snom has released three phones for the Microsoft Lync environment, snom UC600, 821 UC, 300 UC. The snom UC600 USB phone is a new phone that is optimized for the Lync environment and 821 UC, 300 UC are upgraded UC editions qualified to use with Lync servers.

Berlin, Germany and Woburn, Mass. (September 13, 2011) - snom technology AG, a leading developer of IP desktop phones and IP communications solutions, announced today snom UC – a new edition of snom IP desktop phones designed for unified communications (UC) and qualified for use with Microsoft® Lync Server 2010™. The new line includes the snom 821 UC edition and the snom 300 UC edition, both of which work with Lync Server 2010 and are currently the only phones on the market compatible with both Microsoft Lync and other SIP based PBXs. The snom UC edition also includes the new snom UC600, a purpose-built USB desktop phone that provides operation with the Lync soft client.

The snom UC portfolio expands functionality beyond voice features by adding support for the productivity features included in Lync, such as presence, quick dialing from Lync buddy lists (on the snom 821 UC edition) and more. Both the snom 821 UC edition and snom 300 UC edition feature snom UC edition firmware, which is qualified with Lync 2010.

The snom UC600 is a USB business phone optimized for Microsoft Lync 2010, giving small businesses and enterprises a functional and affordable option in Lync environments. With Lync, the snom UC600 offers the ability to dial and execute telephone calls from a PC, as well as through the more traditional handset and keypad interface. At an MSRP of $149, the addition of the snom UC600 to the current range of optimized IP phone devices will help to provide customers with a more cost-effective option in the marketplace.

With the embedded client for Lync 2010, users are assured an optimal end user experience and simple deployment and endpoint management.

snom UC features two standards-based SIP phones from snom’s VoIP phone portfolio now qualified for Microsoft Lync: the executive-class snom 821 desktop phone and entry-level snom 300.
