Apple has agreed to settle with the class action law suite targetting the iPhone 4's reception troubles. Yes the same trouble, antennagate, that made Steve Jobs blurt out "You are not holding the phone right" :). "We believe that the Apple iPhone 4 settlement is fair, adequate, and reasonable. We believe that it allows members of the class to choose, and they can get $15 of cash or a bumper, so we believe that type of choice is proportional to the circumstances." according to CNet.The settlement class has setup their own website iPhone4settlement.com (not alive yet) to help with iPhone users, in obtaining $15 or the iPhone bumber case from Apple.

Saya rasa akan ada sebagian orang yang kecewa akanpenantian yang selama ini selalu ditunggu-tunggu, khususnya para pecintaiPhone. Karena penantian mereka akan penampilan gadget yang baru ini ternyataberbeda dengan kenyataannya, belakangan ini banyak menyebar isu tentang bocorankeluarnya iPhone yang baru, yaitu iPhone 5.
Peluncuran gadget terbaru smartphone iPhone ini telahdilakukan kemarin, yaitu hari selasa. Banyak orang yang menantikan penampilaniPhone 5 tapi ternyata bukan iPhone 5, smartphone terbaru Apple tersebut tidaklain adalah iPhone 4S. Hal ini dapat menjelaskan bahwa isu yang beredar dikalangan masyarakat terutama di online merupakan isu belaka atau hanya hoax.
Smartphone iPhone 4S ini hampir sama dengan smartphoneApple yang sebelumnya, yaitu iPhone 4. Bedanya mungkin cuma di fiturnya,misalnya di iPhone 4S ini udah meggunakan prosesor dan graphic card dual coredengan chip Apple A5. Kemudian kameranya menggunakan sensor 8 MP dengan gambarresolusi 3.268 x 2.448 pixel, serta video dengan kualitas HD 1080p.
Fitur tambahannya yaitu pada jaringan iPhone 4S yangmampu mendukung GSM dan CDMA sekaligus, juga menggunakan iOS 5 dengan fiturterbarunya. Akses data didukung dengan HSDPA (High Speed Downlink PacketAccess) dengan kecepatan 14,4 Mbps.
Salah satu fitur yang menarik bagi saya adalah adanyafitur voice recognition. Dengan menggunakan fitur tersebut, kita dapatmelakukan akses dengan bantuan fitur suara. Fitur voice recognition ini diberinama Siri. Namun, sayangnya iPhone 4S masih belum mendukung teknologi 4G LTE.

Mungkin Apple menang dengan peluncuran iPhone nya, yang menjadi salah satu produk unggulan perusahaan tersebut saat ini.
Bahkan juga dari Strategy Analytics, Apple sekarang udah menjadi produsen smartphone terbesar. Tadinya Nokia berada di posisi pertama, tapi setelah digeser sama Apple, kini Nokia berada di posisi ketiga.
Walaupun Apple udah jadi peringkat pertama dalam produsen smartphone, tapi Nokia tetap jadi produsen ponsel terbesar di dunia dengan berbagai ponselnya. Apple mengandalkan iPhone nya yang kini mengalami kenaikan pada penjualannya di berbagai Negara, terutama di China. Tentunya hal ini juga membuat iPhone menjadi salah satu sumber pendapatan bagi perusahaan Apple tersebut.
Supaya nggak kalah dalam persaingan di smartphone ini, Apple punya strategi sendiri nih. Mereka rencananya mau membuat iPhone dengan seri terbaru nya dengan berbagai fitur dan kelebihan lainnya. Misalnya di iPhone yang terbarunya nanti akan ada fitur kamera yang lebih canggih, sistem operasi, memori, dan fitur lainnya.

Gadget iPhone ini rencananya akan diluncurkan ke luar angkasa pada bulan depan, tepatnya pada tanggal 8 Juli 2011 mendatang bersamaan dengan misi peluncuran pesawat ulang alik Atlantis. iPhone tersebut memang sengaja dikirim ke luar angkasa buat riset Apple, buktinya mereka sebelumnya udah siapin aplikasi khusus dalam iPhone tersebut, yaitu aplikasi SpaceLab for iOS. Malah aplikasi tersebut juga udah dirancang khusus sama Perusahaan riset antariksa bernama Odyssey Space Research.
Aplikasi khusus ini fungsinya buat eksperimen riset mereka, jadi mereka manfaatin teknologi yang tersedia dalam iPhone tersebut seperti kamera dan yang lainnya.
Sebenarnya tugas iPhone ini juga cukup berat, ada empat eksperimen luar angkasa.
· Pertama, memperkirakan ketinggian atau altitude iPhone 4 tersebut di luar angkasa.
· Kedua, ekperimen kalibrasi giroskop dan akselerometer menggunakan kamera dan semua sensor yang dimiliki iPhone 4.
· Ketiga, melakukan perkiraan koordinat posisi iPhone 4 terhadap permukaan Bumi alias longitude dan latitude.
· Keempat, tes terhadap pengaruh radiasi terhadap memori komputer dengan mengukur perubahan setiap bit dalam memori RAM iPhone 4 tersebut.
