Samsung Galaxy S II (Epic Touch 4G) Coming On September 9th : Android Rumor

Rumor has it that Samsung superphone, Samsung Galaxy S II to be called Epic Touch 4G, on Sprint shelves may be coming on September 9th.

The phone is supposed to be the thinnest Android phone to the date and was /is the fastest selling smartphone for Korean smartphone maker. It has sold more than 3 million phone in just 55 days;

“Announced at Mobile World Congress 2011, the GALAXY S II represents our most advanced smartphone to date and demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to deliver premium, market-defining devices, This milestone reflects the continued strong support from our carrier partners around the world who have chosen the GALAXY S II as their flagship Android device.” said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business.


The Galaxy S II is powered by Android OS 2.3 and includes a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a WVGA (480 x 800) resolution driven by a dual-core processor. The Galaxy S II will be offered with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, as well as a microSD memory card slot additional memory.

If you are interested in the camera capabilities, it comes with a rear facing 8MPx camera with FullHD (1080p) video recording at 30fps and a 2.0MP front-facing camera for those video chats or video conferencing. The Samsung Galaxy S II also feature Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, an A-GPS receiver and DLNA. Other capabilities and accessories include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor, all of which kept alive with a 1650mAh battery.

There also a Galaxy S II with support for Near Field Communication (NFC), a capability built into Android OS 2.3 that allows users to interact with everyday objects like ticket machines and supermarket counters. Physically the phone is 4.9 x 2.6 x 0.3 inches and 4.0 ounces.
